SURGICAL INTERVENTIONS FOR URINARY INCONTINENCE IN WOMEN

For reasons of simplification we will separate the interventions for correction of incontinence of urine of women, in two big categories:

a. the interventions with abdominal section that were usual in the past

b. the interventions with placement of special type, tension free polypropylene tape, and are mainly vaginal operations that are preferred by the doctors recently.

The two procedures have the relatively same effectiveness on urinary incontinence, but the interventions with placement tension free tape, have the important advantage of absence of abdominal incision, and therefore the procedure is almost outpatient in contrast to 5 or 7 days of hospitalization needed in abdominal procedures.

SURGICAL INTERVENTIONS FOR URINARY INCONTINENCE IN MEN

Surgical cure of urinary incontinence in men is a difficult task in relation to than the incontinence of women. In our Center we have the experience and the knowledge in using various surgical methods for the treatment of urinary incontinence in men.
